MALOZA SEX ED. GAMES

UNAIDS

Zambia

2022-2023

Context:

This lack of comprehensive sex education in Zambia has led to a number of negative consequences, including high rates of teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and gender-based violence. In order to address these issues, organizations like UNAIDS have been working to develop innovative and effective ways of educating young people about sex and relationships.

Description:

The Maloza board games were designed as a fun and engaging way to educate young people about sex and relationships, in places where there is a high prevalence of HIV/AIDS and limited access to comprehensive sex education. Working closely with UNAIDS, Órbita developed the visual solutions for the board games, which were trialed in 10 schools across the country. Órbita was also tasked with reimagining the materials and creating the Game documents and Handbooks for a new and improved version of the Maloza Games.
